Good news for every cricket fan of India, Australian Fast bowling spearhead Brett Lee is ruled out from rest of the series against India. Lee suffering from an elbow injury will fly back to home for treatment, announced by Cricket Australia. In the recently ended Champions trophy Lee plays the important role for the New South Wales also bags Man of the Series. He excels in his bowling and also with bat. He is expected to come in to the test team in the summer after he is not selected for Ashes series in England. This will cause concern to the Cricket Australia about his selection in the Summer. And his unavailability in this series makes the bowling department nullified since their remaining bowlers are giving too many runs in the death over. Ricky Pointing also pointed this Lee absence will cost much too the team. His absence may also cause his fans over here unhappy but anyway team India will face the Australia with confidence

Juan Martin Del Potro the name which murmured my many people after he beat Roger Federer in the U.S Open Final. It will be the delightful moment for this youngster. Juan Martin was 20 year old Argentine player; he is the second Argentine to win the grand slam. He beat five times U>S champion Roger Federer by 3-6, 7-6, 4-6, 7-6, 6-2 to lift the trophy. It will be bit disappointed for Roger federer who eyes to win six consecutive U.S Open title. But at the end Juan Martin was good enough to beat Federer. Juan Martin Del Potro stuns No.3 seed Rafel Nadel in the semi final and confirms his berth in the final. But anyway yet another star is raised in Tennis court.

It may be something that wildest dream could never imagine happened. Kim Clijsters who retires from the international on 6^th may 2007, has won the U.S Open this year. By winning this U.S Open she becomes the first mother to win a major title since Evonne Goolagong, who is from Australia in 1980.This is her second U.S open Title. She won this title already in the year 2005.

This is her only third tournament back, and she won this U.S Open Grand Slam. By winning this title she becomes the first unseeded player who won the title. And she also becomes a wildcard to win the tournament. She brings her victory by defeating 19 year old Caroline Wozniacki of Denmark by 7-5 6-3.

Caroline Wozniacki becomes the first women from Denmark who enters the U.S Open Finals. Previously Clijsters beats Serena Williams in the dramatic semi final, where Serena is being disqualified from the match.

A high drama is placed in U.S Open semi final match between Defending Champion Serena Williams and Former World No.1 and U.S Open 2005 Champion Kim Clijsters. Serena Williams was outburst over a foot fault. While Serving to stay in the match at a set down and trailing 6-5 in the second set, Serena Williams was called for foot fault by a line judge. This call came while she was on her second serve at 15-30. As per the rules a player’s feet cannot touch the baseline during a serve. But during her serve she made the fault. So for this she shouted and pointing her racket to the line judge. As per the Association Press report she told to line judge” If I could, I would take this ball and shove it down your throat”.

Previously in the match she already got the warning after breaking her racket on the court at the end of the first set. So the Umpire gave a point penalty to her. This helps Clijsters to win the Semi final by 6-4, 7-5. For this Serena was fined 10 grants. And may be some disciplinary action against her.

Australian skipper Rickey Pointing has announced his retirement from shorter version of the game T20. He said he made this decision to prolong his career in the test and limited –over formats. He made this announcement on Monday, ahead of his return flight to England for the end of the seven- match ODI series. Before that Pointing return home, following his team Ashes loss last month. He becomes only the second Australian captain to lose two test series in England. Pointing is the leading run scorer in Australia in Test’s and ODI’s. He has scored 11,345 test runs at an average of 55.88 also played 315 ODI’s and scored 11,523 runs at an average of 42.52. While announcing he said “This decision provides me the opportunity to prolong my Australian test and one day career”.But he will continue to play for Kolkatta Knight riders where he is one of the key player. IPL is consider as Domestic T20 so he will continue to play in that.

Mr. Cool tops again. Mahendra Singh Dhoni tops in another list, being a richest international cricketer with the annual earnings of $10 million. In the recently released Forbes list Dhoni tops the list, earns $8 million in endorsement and the rest his from his cricket salary and fees. Dhoni was ambassador to 17 corporate some brands like Reebok, General Electric, Aircel and Pepsi. Sachin is in second spot with earnings of $8 million. And the dashing Batsman Yuvi was in third spot with total earnings of over $6 million. Then come Rahul Dravid and Andrew Flintoff in fourth and fifth spot. Force India is a Formula one motor racing team lead by Indian Aviation and liquor tycoon Vijay Mallaya. This team was formed in 2007. After going through 29 races without a point, Force India managed to won their first formula one world Championship point in Belgium grand Prix. The driver for the force India who gained championship point to them is Giancarlo Fisichella. But the shocking news is Giancarlo Fisichella is going to move to team Ferrari. Force India also agreed to release him. According to the source Fisichella will not only there for remaining five races but will be made as their brand ambassador. Men in Blues rocks again. Seven member of the Indian Team are nominated of ICC annual award for this year. In that “Mr. Cool” Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Captain of Indain cricket team listed in three catagories. Along with him his deputy Yuvraj, Virendar sehwag, Gautam Gambir, VVS Laxman, Zaheer khan, Harbajan Singh and Amit Mishra make their entry in the list. Gautam Gambir, Harbajan Singh and Dhoni are nominated for ICC Cricketer of the year award. The above three nomination for cricketer of the year joins with VVS Laxman for the Test player of the year award. Virendra sehwag, yuvaraj Singh, Dhoni are nominated for ODI player of the year. Indian’s fast bowler Zaheer Khan was nominated in the T20 performer of the year award. And the spin bowler Amit Mishra was nominated for emerging player of the year award. So the total of seven Indian makes their entry that makes the Indians dominates in overall nomination for the award.

Finally the dramatic ashes series ends with a happy note to England. England won the ashes series 2-1 and regains the urn. In 2007 they lost to Australia in their soil for 5-0. Before going to the பினால் match both team has 1-1 so the lord’s test is consider as series decider. Australia after fumbled in their first innings for 160 lag of 172 runs than England. Superb bowling performance by Broad who took 5-37 in the first innings. Then the England set 546 runs to Australia to win the series. But they failed to reach that and got only 348. Finally England won the 5 match series 2-1. For his best performance in first innings S Broad is selected as Player of the match. Player of the series from Australia side is M Clarke and from England side is A Strauss. This win will be the good farewell treat for Andrew flintoff who is going to retire from the test cricket.

Usain Bolt the world fastest man. He holds the record for the 100 meters at 9.58 seconds. His previous best in the 100 meters was 9.69seconds which was set by him during Beijing Olympics. Usain bolt is a Jamaican sprinter who breaks many world records and created many. Some of the record done by him, he holds 100 meters world record in Olympics. He also won all three main event in the sprint in a single Olympic, not by won all the three he also set world records in all the three events. He is the youngest Gold medalist in 200 m; he sets this record in 2002 world junior championship. This new record of him 9.58 sec in 100 meters was set during this Berlin world championship. One thing is clear he is the man who strikes the sprinting stage like a “lightning Bolt”.
