It must be a normal day for the Samoan Islanders and Tonga until before 1740 GMT on Tuesday. Because at 1748 GMT the 8.3 magnitude quake struck the island which generates 15ft waves in some areas of the island. The pacific Tsunami Warning Centre said that earthquake struck at the depth of 33km, some 190km from Apia, Capital of Samoa. Initially Tsunami warnings issued to New Zealand, Japan, Hawaii but later it withdrawn the warning. It is feared that more than 300 peoples killed by the Tsunami created by the quake in the island. Amateur video footage shows the devastation by the Tsunami, homes, cars are flattened and lodged in top of the trees. European Union also released some amount for the rescue operation and aid for the victims.
Dubai is back to business. After a long break due to the recession, Dubai back with a back in construction field. Trident International holding has awarded 400 million contracts to Arabian construction Company going to build the world’s tallest residential tower. The name of the world’s largest residential tower as “Pentominium” whose name is derived from two words: Penthouse and condominium. Pentominium will contain 124 floors. After this construction it will be the world’s tallest man made structure and second tallest building in the world next to Burj Dubai, which is also located in Dubai. Total area for build up for this tower will be 170,000 square meters and the construction duration for this tower will take up to 48 months as per the company statement. The Pentominum will be the tallest all residential building in the world after the work is completed and it also currently has the highest projected height of any residential building under construction.

Forbes has recently released world’s most powerful women’s list. In that Germany chancellor Angela Merkel tops the list follow by Sheila C. Bair, Chairman of Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. Third place goes to Chairman and chief executive of PepsiCo, Indra K. Nooyi. The rank is given on the basis of job title and past career accomplishment, Visibility by press as well as the amount of money the women controls. So the Germany’s chancellor continues to rank no 1 for fourth consecutive years. U.S Hilary Clinton ranked as 36th. Three women are represented from India. First one, Sonia Gandhi, president of Indian National Congress who rank is 13.Chandra Kochhar, Chief executive of ICICI bank is at 20. And Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw, Chairman and managing director of Biocon is at 92. U.S tops the list with 63 women from the country makes their entry in the list. First Lady of U.S Michelle Obama also made into the list at 40.

Miss Universe Contest one of the year’s most exciting live international television event. This event lives from Atlantis, Paradise Island, Bahamas. This year it made history when an outgoing queen crowned her successor from the same country. In this year an 18 year old Miss Venezuela, Stefania Fernandez crowned as Miss Universe. From the 86 contestant 15 were selected for next round from it goes up to final 5. This is the first time since 1991 final five without an Asian.
